Thought to share: worship is not for ME. I gain nothing from your admiration of ME. It does not change ME or MY position. It does not prop ME up. I do not need your praise. I AM neither egocentric nor egotistical.
However, worship changes you. You gain everything by looking at MY greatness. It changes your position by shifting your perspective, giving you insight to how great and mighty I AM and how small your problems are in comparison. Praise allows you to step into MY Presence and encounter ME. And as you encounter ME, I hold you up. MY arms enfold you and support you.
You need to praise and worship ME because worship takes you into MY Presence and MY Presence changes both you and your circumstances.
Psalm 22:3 (NLT) Yet You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.
(KJV) But Thou art holy, O Thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
Acts 16:25-26 (NLT) Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!

Jill, it’s great that you realize you may have been approaching God incorrectly. And there’s no better time than the present to course correct 🙂 Every time we make adjustments that take us deeper into Truth, we experience break through and more freedom! So, this is exciting for you 🙂
